When I was a child, I dreamt of becoming a photographer for National Geographic magazine.

Obviously, I chose to follow other paths, but my passion for photography - and visual images in general - remained. And my love for nature grew. Photography remains one of my many hobbies and is not yet a truly professional pursuit. I took many of the photographs in my book An ABC Escapade through Egypt and my photographs will be used in my two upcoming titles, but I still classify myself as an amateur, as a beginner, as a “photographer-in-progress”. I enjoy taking photos of flowers and desert plants, critters, food, architecture, and other cultural wonders. I love photos taken up close, of colors, of textures.

I’ve been through many cameras in my life, both digital and film. But today I shoot with a Canon EOS 1000D, a tool I am still learning how to use. And once I perfect that, or at least am more confident in my ability to make the camera take the image I want, I will purchase additional lenses (macro!) for even more photographic adventures.

Below are links to my various online photograph collections. Many of the images are released under a Creative Commons license, making them free to download and use for non-commercial purposes, and some you can ever purchase on products such as calendars, greeting cards, and postcards.

Mostly just for fun, I create various products on Zazzle using my photographs - postcards and prints of Egypt and Italy, lots of flower postcards, greeting cards for Egyptian and general holidays, calendars of desert plants, mugs and magnets featuring food and animals, and other cool products like iPad cases and speakers!
